Espresso Machine Deals

The ‘do everything for you’ machines

DeLonghi Rivelia mid-way through making an espresso shot, the spare bean hopper is sitting beside the machine

DeLonghi Rivelia

The Rivelia is one of the best super-automatic espresso machines currently available. And with 20% off, it’s an excellent time to snag yourself one.

It can produce seriously rich, chocolatey espresso shots with a greater intensity than a lot of its competitors.

My favorite feature is the two interchangeable bean hoppers paired with the unique Bean Switch system. Any time you change beans, the Bean Adapt technology adjusts automatically to your new beans so you’re always at the optimal settings.

KitchenAid KF6 turned off

KitchenAid KF6

For the price of the machine, the quality of espresso from the KitchenAid KF6 is great. Like really great.

You get 4 user profiles, and the flexibility to adjust the flow rate, temperature, and dose (up to a max 15g). So you get a lot of bang for your buck with this machine.

Whilst the milk foam is decent for lattes, it leaves a lot to be desired for both cappuccino and macchiato.

In terms of price-to-features ratio, I think this is the best KitchenAid espresso machine. So whilst the Prime Day discount isn’t massive, I’d happily snap this up at full price, so any saving is great.

Check out our in-depth KitchenAid KF6 review for more details

DeLonghi Magnifica Start pouring milk into a waiting cup

DeLonghi Magnifica Start with Auto Milk Frother

At regular price, the Magnifica Start is a serious workhorse and budget-friendly bean-to-cup machine. At less than $500, it’s a steal.

I’m not the biggest fan of the shiny plastic look, and the grinder is really loud. But that’s me being harsh – the espresso quality is good, the milk quality is even better (that’s where this machine shines), and it’s silly easy to use.

The Prime Day deal has the black and silver versions at the same price, which is a nice change – the silver usually costs more.

If you need more convincing, see our full review.

DeLonghi Eletta Explore

DeLonghi Eletta Explore

Do you want a near-unlimited choice of coffee recipes? The DeLonghi Eletta Explore is your gal. It has hot, cold, and XXL versions of all your cafe favorites.

It’s designed for people who like variety in their coffee consumption (and don’t find choice overwhelming!) It has the option for either hot or cold milk foam, meaning incredible iced coffees are as simple as touching a button. And you still have hot, cozy lattes for the colder months.

It’s not worth it if you won’t touch the cold coffees. But if you will, the Eletta Explore offers incredible value for money on Prime Day.

Front view of the Philips 3300 LatteGo

Philips 3300 LatteGo

One espresso machine we can always count on finding in Amazon’s sales is the Philips 3300 LatteGo. Which is great, as we’d never recommend paying full price for this machine, but with more than $350 off, it’s a great value machine.

As a mid-range super-automatic espresso machine, being easy to use is its priority. I like having all the buttons visible (only possible as there’s just 5 pre-programmed drinks), and the ceramic flat burr grinder is much more premium than you’d expect on a machine of this price.

Just be aware that it isn’t calibrated straight out of the box, so you’ll need to run 30 dud coffees through it before you start getting anything drinkable. Once you get there, it’s a solid machine, though.

Miele CM 6360 mid-way through dispensing a single espresso into waiting white cup

Miele CM 6360

If you’re looking for a touch of luxury in your home, $400 off a premium super-automatic espresso machine is an excellent place to start.

Miele always knocks it out of the park when it comes to sleek aesthetics, and their build quality is superb. This isn’t the easiest machine to use, though it’s not the hardest either.

The espresso quality and milk foam can’t be faulted either.

If you help deciding, see our full review.

DeLonghi Magnifica Evo with LatteCrema

DeLonghi Magnifica Evo

This is an uncomplicated espresso machine for uncomplicated espresso drinkers.

The soft-touch buttons with pictures along the top are clear and easy to use. You can pick espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato, long coffee, or iced coffee. Or there’s a ‘My Latte’ button to make and save something unique to you.

(If you want more pre-programmed coffee options, the next model up – the Magnicia Evo Next – has $400 off for Prime Day.)

Don’t expect the coffee to blow your socks off or to get loads of customization options. But as a step-up from a pod machine and, with $350 off, it offers incredible value for money.

Need more info before you make a decision? Check out our Magnifica Evo review.

The ‘does some things, you do the rest’ machines

Close-up view of the Ninja Luxe Cafe Premier 3-in-1 coffee and espresso machine

Ninja Luxe Cafe Pro

Variety is the spice of life and the Ninja Luxe Cafe Pro adds that spice to your coffee.

It’s super easy to use, and can make espresso, drip coffee, cold brew, or just hot water for tea. And it makes them well, especially the espresso. We were blown away by how good the espresso was from a non-dedicated machine.

If you’re looking for a simple, effective way to caffeinate the whole family, this is it. Just keep in mind that it can only really handle medium-dark beans.

Side view of the Breville Barista Touch, with screen turned on

Breville Barista Touch

The Barista Touch is aimed at budding home baristas. It’s a great machine if you want most of the espresso-pulling work done for you, but still want to make adjustments to personalize your shots.

It will take you a few drinks to customize it to suit your taste and beans, but after that, everything is ready at the tap of the touchscreen.

I’d recommend picking up a coffee scale too, to help with dialing in. The payoff for incredible espresso quality (and auto milk) is totally worth it, in my humble opinion.

The discounted price mirrors what you can get direct from Breville (here).

If you need more info, see our full review.

Front view of the DeLonghi La Specialista Touch espresso machine

DeLonghi La Specialista Touch

This is a hard one for me – the DeLonghi La Specialista Touch is a direct competitor to Breville’s Barista Touch… but Breville is capable of better espresso.

Having said that, the discount on the DeLonghi machine is greater, so it could be a more tempting offer during Prime Day.

It’s designed for budding espresso enthusiasts – you are in control over all the elements of pulling your espresso, but the machine holds your hand and guides you through it. So there’s minimal room for error.

Want to see how it performs irl, see our full review.

Top-down view of the DeLonghi Dedica Maestro Plus espresso machine

DeLonghi Dedica Maestro Plus

The Dedica Maestro Plus is ideal if you’re short on space (it’s only 8.2 inches wide) and want to save money by stripping out fancy features you’ll never use.

As semi-automatic machines go, this is something of a hybrid option. You control the espresso, and the Dedica Maestro uses the automatic steam wand to take care of the milk frothing.

To get the best from this machine, you need a separate grinder. But the 40% saving leaves plenty of room in your budget.

The ‘you’re in charge’ machines

Full view of the Breville Barista Express, sitting on a wooden table

Breville Barista Express

The Barista Express may be over 10 years old, but there’s still life in the old dog.

Are there more up-to-date Breville machines out there? Absolutely. But does that mean you should turn your back on the Barista Express? Absolutely not.

Whilst we’d no longer pay full price for this espresso maker, anytime you can snap it up in the sales, it’s an absolute win. At a fraction of the price ($200 off), it’s phenomenal value for money.

Currently, the Prime Day discount mirrors what you can get directly from Breville (here).

The ‘take it anywhere’ devices

Hand holding the Wacaco Pixapresso with rocks in the background

Wacaco Pixapresso

The Pixapresso is a full espresso machine in handheld mode. The easy-to-use display helps you pull ristretto, espresso, and lungo with minimal fuss.

You can use ground coffee or your favorite original Nespresso pods and get an impressive 5 espressos using cold water on a single charge.

There’s even a hack to make the basket unpressurized so true espresso fiends can dial in seriously good shots. Though you’ll need a good quality grinder and scale to really make the most of the Pixapresso.

It’s quite heavy, so not ideal for hikers. But for other travelers, this is the best espresso you’ll get from a handheld device.

Outin Nano portable espresso machine parts laid out with Nespresso pod

Outin Nano

The Outin is an impressive bit of kit:

It’s battery-powered, so you can pull shots while hiking, camping, or just chilling in the park. You don’t need to heat your water separately. On one charge, you’ll get 3 shots from cold water or hundreds from hot water.

It works with ground coffee or original Nespresso pods, is super convenient, and can produce decent-tasting espresso with nice crema.

To get the best from the OutIn Nano, you really need to use freshly ground coffee (the Outin Fino grinder is really good too) and get the Nano Basket Plus too (also in the Prime Day sale!). It allows up to a 17g dose and has a nice dosing funnel and tamper.

But if you’re planning on using Nespresso pods, you don’t need any extras, and the quality of your shots is simply down to your choice of pod.

The Wacaco Nanopresso takes the top spot for Overall Best Portable Espresso Machine

Wacaco Nanopresso

The Nanopresso is an old warhorse of a portable espresso maker – we’ve lost count of how many trips we’ve taken with ours. Sure, the newer Pixapresso and the Outin Nano can produce better espresso quality, but they don’t offer quite as good value for money (especially with 20% off!)

The Nanopresso doesn’t heat the water for you or generate the pressure for extraction; you need to do this manually, like a bicycle pump. But that means it’s a lot lighter and considerably cheaper than the other options.

The modular design means you need to buy the extra NS Adapter if you want to use Nespresso pods. Or the Barista Kit if you want to brew longer coffees.

But it’s a simple to use, reliable espresso maker on the go if you constantly find yourself in hotel rooms with terrible coffee, or want a lightweight espresso maker to take on camping trips.

Nespresso Prime Day Deals

Nespresso Vertuo Next machine plugged into wall

Nespresso Vertuo Next with Aeroccino

The Nespresso Vertuo line of coffee makers are some of the best Nespresso machines out there. Especially if you’re short on space.

Vertuo capsules are a little more expensive than the regular ones. But we’re big fans as they (generally) taste better. They use a barcode on the capsule itself to adapt the extraction process to suit the drink you’re trying to make.

This bundle includes the Vertuo Next machine and the Aeroccino3 milk frother for less than the Vertuo Next usually sells on its own.

If you don’t drink milk-based drinks, you obviously don’t need the Aeroccino. In that case, you can also get the Vertuo Next on its own with an equally great discount.

Product image of Nespresso Lattissima

Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima

If you’re a cappuccino or latte lover, the Vertuo Lattissima deserves a look in. Though black coffee lovers are still covered with espresso, ristretto, or lungo.

So, for a fraction of the cost of a super-automatic, all your coffee bases are covered. (Especially with more than 40% off!)

All you have to do is press a button to get your favorite coffee without making a mess. (The milk container is dishwasher safe too!)

The model we tested (pictured) is the slightly older one, and it’s had some nice upgrades since then, like a dial on top of the milk container to help with cleaning.

Nespresso Pop+ single-serve coffee maker

Nespresso Vertuo Pop+

As the smallest machine in the Nespresso Vertuo lineup, the Pop+ is ideal if you’re short on space. It also comes in a wide range of colors, including a cute limited edition Pistachio color for less than $100.

Smaller means less space for used pods, a smaller carafe, and less space under the nozzle. It also does one less coffee size than the Vertuo Next.

But it functions essentially the same and is a little bit cheaper.

It’ll only make black coffee drinks, though – if you want milk coffees, you’ll need to get a separate milk frother in this combo deal.

Amazon Prime Day Coffee Maker Deals

Drip Coffee Makers

Braun MultiServe Plus Coffee Maker

Braun MultiServe Plus

There aren’t many drip coffee brewers that the Specialty Coffee Association gives its nod of approval to, but this is one of them.

Being SCA certified basically means that it has been rigorously tested to ensure coffee is consistently brewed within the SCA Golden Cup recommendations. This assesses water temperature, brewing time, and dose.

In other words, it brews a dang good cup of coffee.

In terms of customization, you can choose between 4 coffee strengths and over ice brewing, plus the amount of coffee you need between a single cup and a full carafe.

If you’re looking to get a drip coffee maker during the Prime Day sale, this one gets our top vote.

Technivorm Moccamaster 53941 KBGV Select, White, sitting on counter

Technivorm Moccamaster KGBV Select

Another Specialty Coffee Association-approved coffee brewer, maybe even better than the Braun Multiserve Plus, but also a lot more expensive.

The Technivorm Moccamaster series are almost all approved by the SCA, a serious endorsement on their design and brewing capabilities.

The KBGV model allows you to select brewing 6 or 10 cups, which is very handy. The hot plate also adjusts to the volume you’ve brewed so it won’t burn your coffee.

Even in the Prime Day sale, it’s expensive for a drip coffee maker, but it looks great and brews fantastic coffee. So we think it’s well worth it.

Breville Precision Brewer on wooden work surface with white wall behind it

Breville Precision Brewer Thermal Carafe

This used to be one of the absolute best drip coffee brewers you could possibly buy, but it’s been discontinued. So this Prime Day price is probably one of the last times we’ll see this machine – and it’s an amazing price because of it.

Coffee legend James Hoffman used one for 2 years and spent 12 minutes saying how amazing it is on his YouTube channel. That’s about as good an endorsement as a coffee product can get.

You get incredible control over the brewing, a huge 60oz max brewing capacity, easy to use controls, timed-brewing, and cold brew functionality.

Yes, it’s more expensive than most drip coffee makers. But it’s also better than most drip coffee makers. We wouldn’t hesitate to snap up this bargain.

Braun BrewSense 12 Cup Drip Coffee Maker

Braun BrewSense 12-Cup

One of our favorite 4-cup drip coffee makers is on sale!

You can brew 1-4 cups or a full 12-cup carafe. We’re big fans of the gold-tone reusable filter and the charcoal water filters for better taste.

The only downside we had with the Braun was the price. So with it discounted for Prime Day, we think it’s one of the best drip coffee makers around.

All the features you want, great coffee, and now a great price. We love it.

“Pressed” Coffee

AeroPress coffee maker with included accessories

AeroPress

The AeroPress has a dedicated global fan club (of which we are members) thanks to the simple design and great-tasting coffee.

For something so simple, the amount of flexibility and options you get is seemingly endless. So you’ll never be bored with this at home (or when you travel).

Being so tiny, you can easily pop the AeroPress away in a cupboard – there’s no giving up half your kitchen counter like with an espresso machine. Or you can throw it in your bag.

Outside of Prime Day, this is a bargain piece of coffee brewing equipment. So, in the sales, it’s an absolute winner!

Worried that it won’t make enough coffee? The AeroPress XL is in the Prime Day Sale too.

AeroPress Go Plus brewing coffee using the inverted method, with the insualted travel mug to its left

AeroPress Go Plus

We almost never take a trip without our AeroPress Go Plus anymore.

It’s the exact same, internationally loved, AeroPress brewer, but it packs inside a large, good-quality insulated cup with a lid. The stirrer also folds in half, so it packs neatly away too.

The bottom of the cup has a little screw-off section where you can store paper filters for brewing. It’s so well-thought-out. You just have to be careful not to submerge the cup in water when cleaning it if there are paper filters in there, as it will seep through and drench them.

Usually, our biggest issue with the Go Plus is the price. But with over 25% off, that goes away.

Capsule machines

Keurig K-Supreme Plus, Black

Keurig K-Supreme

The K-Supreme offers a simple, no-frills coffee-making experience.

The only decisions you have to make are the size of your coffee (6, 8, 10, or 12oz) and whether you want regular strength, strong, or over ice.

We’re big fans of the water reservoir design – it can be rotated into multiple positions. So you can easily fit this machine into even the smallest of apartment kitchens, or the most awkwardly shaped ones.

To get the most out of this machine, we recommend getting the My K-Cup which you can refill with any ground coffee of your choice meaning you can use a much bigger range of great-tasting coffee.

Deals on Coffee Grinders

Electric Grinders

Fellow Ode coffee grinder

Fellow Ode Grinder (Gen 2)

If pour over, AeroPress, or French press is your drink of choice, the Fellow Ode (gen 2) burr grinder is one of the best you can get for the price.

Give it a miss if you want to brew espresso, though. Instead, look at the Fellow Opus. (Not discounted unfortunately.)

In terms of grind quality and how simple the Ode grinder is to use, it more than justifies the hefty price tag.

Currently, the discount is on both the black and white versions, but in previous sales events, the black model has sold out quickly. So if that’s your preference, don’t sleep on this Prime Day deal.

Oxo Brew Conical Burr Grinder sitting on kitchen counter

OXO Brew Conical Burr Grinder

As affordable coffee grinders go, the OXO Brew conical burr grinder is a solid option.

It claims to be suitable for all brewing methods, but realistically, it’s not good enough for espresso. If you stick to methods that need a coarser grind like pour over, French press, and drip, you’ll have a much better time.

Manual Grinders

1Zpresso K Ultra sitting on a wooden table

1Zpresso K Ultra

This is the grinder we take with us when we travel, along with our AeroPress. The K Ultra is ideal for AeroPress, pour over, French press, or anything else non-espresso brewing. It isn’t precise enough to handle espresso, unfortunately.

An incredible range of grind sizes, easy to adjust, and easy to use. Just be aware if, like my wife, you have small hands – it can be tough to grip.

A fantastic all-rounder and one we recommend highly, even at full price, and even more so when it’s discounted.

Timemore C3 on table in front of its box

Timemore C3 ESP

The Timemore C3 offers one of the best value manual grinders currently on the market. Especially when it’s discounted.

Despite its low price, it still feels premium, and the textured body makes it easy to grip. My wife struggles with gripping manual grinders, and this is one of the few she can use. The handle is also comfortable to hold and smooth to turn.

The ESP model is designed for espresso drinkers and is seriously impressive for a grinder under $100.

My main issue with Timemore grinders is that you have to guess your settings – there are no numbers on the adjustment dial. I find this really awkward if you change beans or brewing method frequently. But if you’re a creature of habit, this won’t bother you.

Savings on all other Coffee Accessories

Normcore V4 Tamper on wooden table

Normcore Coffee Tamper V4

When you first get into espresso pulling, you quickly realize just how many variables there are to perfect your shot. And how many gadgets this includes!

One non-negotiable in your espresso setup should be a *good quality* tamper.

That’s exactly what Normcore delivers – and for an affordable price. (Especially when it’s in the sale!)

We’re always really impressed by how even our extractions are when using it. Being spring-loaded means you get some feedback too, which really helps.

Planetary Design, Airscape airtight coffee canister in yellow

Airscape Coffee Bean Storage

Coffee beans degrade pretty quickly when they come into contact with oxygen. So you need to store them somewhere airtight.

The Airscape coffee canister from Planetary Design is our go-to storage. The seal isn’t just airtight; it’s airLESS. When you put the lid on, it uses some patented wizardry to remove all the air from the canister.

This keeps your beans in top condition for however long it takes you to drink them.

And you can choose from a range of colors and sizes if our big, bright yellow one isn’t your style.

Timemore Black Mirror electronic coffee scale

Timemore Coffee Scale

Consistency and accuracy are greatly rewarded with delicious coffee. The easiest way to get there is to precisely weigh your input and output.

So a good, fast, and accurate scale like this one from Timemore is a must-have in any at-home coffee setup if you’re serious about quality.

We like this one as it responds quickly to changes and also has a built-in timer to help with dialling in your coffee.

It’s slim enough to be easy to pack away whilst having a big enough footprint for a full carafe to sit on it too.

Jura milk container attached to the E8 espresso machine

Jura Milk Container

Currently, there aren’t any Jura coffee machine deals to be had this Amazon Prime Day (not unusual, it’s pretty rare to see them discounted.)

But you can get the next best thing (kind of) – some accessories to complete your setup!

All Jura machines come with a basic milk hose that you can put into any vessel. It gives you the flexibility to use whatever you like, but it’s also pretty frustrating given how expensive their machines are.

So we’re always happy when we see their sleek, branded milk container in the sales! It eases the frustration just a little bit.

You can take it in and out of the fridge when you’re not using it. And the glass helps to maintain the temperature.

Barista Warrior Gooseneck Kettle

Bodum Melior Electric Gooseneck Kettle

A gooseneck kettle is essential for making great pour over coffee at home. This offering from Barista Warrior gives a simple yet effective way to complete your setup.

We’re big fans of the comfortable handle. And the spout is a good shape to give you the much-needed control, regardless of your experience level.

Our favorite feature of this kettle is the thermometer embedded into the top of the lid. It makes it super easy to control your temperature without having to spring for an electric kettle.

Currently the saving is available on the Stainless Steel, Matte Black, and Copper version. So there should be an option to suit your style.

Fellow Stagg EKG gooseneck kettle

Fellow Stagg EKG Pro Studio

It’s been around for years, but we still think the Fellow Stagg EKG is one of the best gooseneck kettles you can buy. And a 20% discount sweetens the deal.

Reasons we love it:

  • Temperature range from 135 – 210°F, adjustable by single degrees
  • Easy-to-use precision pouring spout
  • Comfortable handle
  • Amazing looks
  • Built-in timer
  • Holds temperature for up to 1 hour if you’re having a hectic day

Sure, it might be expensive for a kettle. But we truly think it’s worth it.

Simple Modern 40oz Insulated Travel Mug with lid, straw, and handle (Blush)

Simple Modern 40oz Trek Tumbler

Controversial opinion: we think the Simple Modern Trek Tumbler is way better than the (also discounted) Stanley Quencher. Don’t come at us!

Whether or not you agree, it’s much cheaper, especially with a cheeky discount in Amazon’s Prime Day Sale.

Do we think 40oz is way too big for coffee? Absolutely! But we don’t judge other people’s caffeine consumption.

It comes with 2 straws which can sit in a range of positions to suit what’s most comfortable for you. It’s also impressively leak-proof and keeps drinks cold for well over the advertised 24 hours.

FAQs

When is Prime Day?

Amazon Prime ‘Day’ is a loose term as it actually covers four days – I guess Prime Days is a little less catchy. Plus, the discounts usually start rolling weeks in advance – we’ve seen some whoppers from early June onward.

This year, the event ran from Tuesday 23rd June at 0.01 PT until 23.59 PT on Friday 26th June. This 96-hour discount bonanza is similar to Black Friday and Cyber Monday and offers great discounts on a wide range of products.

If you haven’t signed up, many of the deals won’t even be visible to you. So if you click one of our links and think ‘uh, this isn’t a great coffee machine deal’ then chances are you aren’t a Prime member or you’re logged out of your account.

Amazon Prime Day - Phone App

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is a victory for Jeff Bezos’ marketing team. It is a special sale exclusively for Amazon Prime members. The online shopping giant has been running the event since 2015 alongside other sales events like Amazon’s Big Deal Days in October and the Big Spring Sale in March. The discounts can easily be worth the cost of Prime membership for a year, even ignoring all the other benefits like the streaming services and generous cloud storage.

If you’re not sure about committing, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial just for Prime Day. That way, you don’t have to worry about costs, only savings.

Throughout the event, you’ll find a dedicated section on Amazon.com with all the Prime Day deals which you can then search by category or for a specific item. There are deals in all departments from books to toys to garden furniture and, most importantly, coffee makers.

How to get a “Lightning Deal”?

In addition to the general discounts and great deals offered on Amazon Prime Day, you’ll find some products with “lightning deals”. These are usually massive discounts but only on a very limited amount of stock.

This is where you find the best Amazon Prime Day coffee maker deals but you need to be quick off the mark. If you wait too long or plan on coming back later, you’ll probably miss out. That said, the deals change throughout the day so you might find one that suits you even better at a later time.

You can find them on the main Prime Day page or by visiting the ‘Today’s Deals’ section.

Are Prime Day Coffee Deals Worth It?

Big sales events usually all suffer the same issue: not everything is actually a great deal.

Annoyingly, it’s fairly common for some products to be sold at an artificially high price beforehand. This means sellers can advertise huge discounts for the event without actually giving you a good deal.

The psychology behind Prime Day is to prey on our FOMO. So, some products might have been on sale for a while but then placed under the “prime day” banner to encourage impulse buying. When we think something is a limited-time deal, we’re more likely to buy things we don’t really need or even want.

It can be really difficult to work out what are good deals and what is just good marketing.

To protect yourself, we recommend doing your research. Look around and see what price other retailers are selling your coveted purchase for. That way you know that the deal on offer is actually a good one.

If in doubt, remember the words of my wise Mom: “It’s only a bargain if you needed it anyway.”
