Handmade Espresso Cups
Price: $
Our Rating: 8/10
Beautiful espresso cups can be as ornamental as they are functional.
These handmade ceramic cups look like a piece of art that somehow makes espresso taste better (#science)
If buying something related to the making of coffee scares you, then some beautiful cups are a safe bet. At 3oz, they are the perfect size for a double espresso. Plus, the ceramic is a good heat insulator.
Just be sure to let the recipient know they need to be hand washed as they’re not dishwasher safe.
Airscape Coffee Canister
Price: $$
Our Rating: 9/10
I don’t understand the science of it, but once you hit a certain age, smart storage solutions somehow become the greatest gift…
Oxygen coming into contact with coffee beans is a big no-no. So being able to store them in an air-tight container is the best way to keep beans tasting at their best.
We really like the Planetary Design ones as the plunger-style lid removes any excess oxygen whilst still being relatively easy to get off.
You can choose from a wide range of colors if our garish yellow ones aren’t the vibe you’re going for!
Stagg Gooseneck Kettle
Price: $$$$
Our Rating: 9.5/10
Do you know a coffee fanatic who loves pour over (fancy drip coffee) but uses a regular kettle? First up, they need to step up their coffee snobbery game. And you can help by gifting them the best gooseneck kettle.
The Fellow Stagg Gooseneck makes pour over (or any manual coffee brewing) a breeze with its accurate temperature settings.
Plus, it also looks great, which is always nice.
Having a special kettle just for coffee may seem excessive, but perfection demands such things.
Ember Smart Mug
Price: $$$$
Our Rating: 8/10
I’ll be honest, when I first saw the price of the Ember Smart Mug, I vomited a little in my mouth. Being a coffee snob goes hand in hand with paying more than most for some equipment. But even still, this is a mug.
However, I’m so happy that I gave it a chance. After babysitting for a friend and returning to my coffee 40 minutes later with it still being the perfect temperature, I was sold!
Anyone who regularly brews a great coffee and then gets distracted will think this is a bargain. (Or the greatest gift they’ve ever received.)
Set the perfect temperature on the app and the Smart Mug will keep it at that temperature. No more cold coffee.
It has an 80-minute battery life, or you can use it plugged in for indefinite coffee warming.
“How To Make The Best Coffee At Home” by James Hoffmann
Price: $
Our Rating: 9/10
James Hoffmann is something of a coffee legend.
He’s an English barista, YouTuber, entrepreneur, coffee consultant, and best-selling author of “The World Atlas of Coffee”. Plus, an all-around inspiration to everyone who loves their coffee.
With this book, he’s made brewing great coffee at home easier to understand and achieve. He’s also done it in a way that’s easy for anyone to follow along.
This is a great read for any coffee lover. Even those with years of experience will find it enjoyable.
It’s available in hardback as well as Kindle/ Audible versions. For me, nothing beats the hardback, especially for showing off on the coffee table.
Jura Cup Warmer
Price: $$$$$
Our Rating: 7/10
Pouring freshly brewed coffee at the perfect temperature into cold cups should be a crime. To keep your beloved connoisseur out of coffee jail (is it wrong that I kinda want to go there..?), gift them Jura’s cup warmer.
Coffee cups are kept at the perfect temperature, always ready to use.
As with all things Jura touch, the cup warmer looks great and works great. But it comes with a luxury price tag.
So, this is a little “out of the box” – one of the best coffee gifts for someone who has everything (and is a nightmare to buy for).
It’s a bit like heated car seats. Do you need them? No. But would it make your day better? Heck yeah.
Breville Milk Cafe
Price: $$$$
Our Rating: 8/10
Next up we have a great present for someone who likes frothed milk with their coffee but doesn’t own or want an espresso machine.
The Breville Milk Cafe delivers perfectly frothed milk of any type – even for iced coffees. We had our doubts when we first tried it out, but were very pleasantly proved wrong.
Our favorite thing about all Breville machines is that they’re easy to program and use. There is a dial on the front to select the desired temperature and it does the rest.
Goodbye, learning how to master a manual milk wand. Instead, you can give the gift of barista-quality milk foam.
Prefer to buy direct? Shop with Breville
Chemex
Price: $$
Our Rating: 9/10
Chemex might just make the most beautiful coffee makers out there.
Pour over is a classic coffee brewing method that any self-respecting coffee snob will love. So, if your coffee loving friend doesn’t own a Chemex, this gift will be doing them a favor.
Compared to the Hario V60, Chemex is relatively easy to use. It brews bright, clear, and delicious coffee so, if you’re lucky, they might brew you a cup too! If it’s their first time, you can always subtly direct them to our Chemex coffee ratio calculator to make sure they nail it.
Oh and did we mention just how affordable the Chemex is? It’s an upscale coffee gift without the upscale price tag.
Hario Mizudashi (Cold Brew Coffee Maker)
Price: $
Our Rating: 8.5/10
Iced coffee might spike in popularity in the summer, but it’s honestly never a bad time to drink cold brewed, ice-cold coffee.
The flavor of cold brew is very different from other coffee brew methods. It’s a much more intense, sweet style that can be diluted with water or mixed with milk, creamer, sugar, or syrup to taste.
Anyone who spends a fortune on iced coffee in the summer months is bound to adore being able to make it at home. And, for us, the Mizudashi is the best value option out there:
It’s simple to use, compact enough to tuck into the fridge, easy to clean, and it brews a diluted cold brew that can be drunk as is (not a concentrate like some of its competitors).
Hario V60
Price: $
Our Rating: 9.5/10
Simple, but perfectly formed.
The Hario V60 is arguably the best coffee dripper for getting the most flavor from the coffee beans (see our full review for more details).
It’s also one of the cheapest. So you’re getting a whole lot of value in a cone-shaped package.
Compared to other methods, the Hario V60 recipe is a lot more involved. So, if your coffee-loving friend hasn’t used one before, it will take some practice to perfect. But the aromas of a perfectly brewed pour over can’t be beaten.
Nor can the flavor. If your favorite coffee snob doesn’t already have one, you’ll be the flavor of the month when they open up this gift!
OXO Brew 8-Cup Coffee Maker
Price: $$$$
Our Rating: 9/10
The traditional drip coffee maker is a staple across American households. But there’s coffee and then there’s coffee.
This one from OXO Brew is certified by the Specialty Coffee Association as meeting their very high standards.
That means, it will consistently brew a top-quality cup of coffee according to their standards for temperature, time, and quantities. Which is really just a long way of saying, this coffee maker is great.
And more than justifies the price tag.
Phin Kit (Brewer + Coffee)
Price: $
Our Rating: 9/10
A phin is a simple and affordable drip coffee maker from Vietnam.
Sure, Vietnam might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of great coffee. But it should be!
Whilst commonplace in Vietnamese households, coffee connoisseurs outside the country rarely have one (or have even come across them). So you’ll get brownie points for thinking outside the box.
This gift set includes a stainless steel phin that fits on top of most mugs and a bag of coffee.
You can get the phin on its own or paired with any of Nguyen’s great tasting coffee beans (they’re America’s first specialty Vietnamese coffee company).
We recommend Loyalty – it’s their bestseller for a reason (and a firm favorite in our household!)

Ibrik
Price: $
Our Rating: 8/10
Another simple coffee maker, this time from the origins of our favorite beverage. Ibriks (aka cezve) are still used in Turkey and across the Middle East to make delicious coffee.
These beautiful and easy-to-use little brewing pots are also great value for money.
Maybe a nice change up for a coffee-loving friend for date night. At the absolute worst, they make nice kitchen ornaments – we always have ours on display.
They come in various sizes so they can sip kahve (Turkish coffee) for one, or make some for everyone. If you want to add a little extra, you could pair this gift with some Turkish delight too.
Bialetti Moka Pot
Price: $$
Our Rating: 8/10
Give the gift of coffee history.
The Bialetti Moka Express is a classic; an icon. It was one of the first pressure coffee makers ever made back in Italy in the 1930s. And has remained a coffee institution ever since.
Moka pot coffee brewing is simple and produces rich, syrupy coffee. All whilst being virtually indestructible so will last for years and years.
This makes it great to use at home or camping – anywhere that has access to a heat source.
Heck, we’ve even seen the Moka pot used as decoration. So it’s not just a practical present!
The intense, slightly bitter coffee isn’t for everyone. So if your coffee-obsessed friend likes to add a lot of sugar and syrups to their coffee, this isn’t the ideal present for them. But it’s cheap, easy to use, and it’s nice to own a coffee legend too.

Whiskey Stones
Price: $
Our Rating: 10/10
I know what you’re thinking – what’s whiskey got to do with coffee? And, yes, this might be the most unique coffee gift idea but hear us out…
We love iced coffee. We hate diluted coffee. The answer? Whiskey stones.
They’re basically re-usable ice cubes that don’t melt, completely changing the game when making iced coffee at home. There’s no need to calculate how much water will melt and dilute the delicious coffee.
As well as being very cheap, whiskey stones can obviously be used for non-coffee drinks like wine, cocktails, even whiskey! A great simple gift.
As far as we’re concerned this is the best of the best coffee snob gifts out there. Even if the recipient does look at you a little strangely at first.
Coffee Scoop with Clip
Price: $
Our Rating: 8/10
Keep it simple with some coffee scoops that can clip onto the bag.
The second I put something down, it’s instantly lost. I call it an adorable quirk, others (like my wife) call it downright annoying. So, if you know a forgetful coffee lover just like me, clipping the coffee scoop straight onto the bag increases the likelihood of it not going missing.
So really this is two gifts for the (very low) price of one – a handy spoon for coffee and the key to saving someone’s marriage.
I prefer metal scoops (or plastic) as I find them easier to keep clean than wooden ones.
It’s also possible to get personalized scoops for a more special touch. But they will also push up the bargain price.
Bicycle Coffee Cup Holder
Price: $
Our Rating: 8/10
Getting exercise? Check.
Saving the environment? Check.
Keeping caffeine levels topped up? Check, check, check.
Cycling to work shouldn’t preclude anyone from enjoying fresh coffee during the commute.
This handy coffee cup holder simply clips onto the handlebars so caffeine is always at hand. As an added bonus, there’s also a slot for a phone so the clean lines of the lycra outfit aren’t disturbed.
For the non-cyclers, the clip is pretty versatile and will work on a stroller, wheelchair, walker, or scooter too.
Trade Coffee – Gift
Price: $$$
Our Rating: 9.5/10
Variety is the spice of life and Trade Coffee definitely has variety.
There are over 450 curated coffees to suit all tastes. So a Trade Coffee subscription can have the coffee lover in your life discovering new and exciting coffees.
They also take away all the guesswork. All you have to do is choose how many bags you want to gift them (3, 6, 12, or 24). Then decide if you want Trade to email them now, in the future, or not at all (like if you want to print or write something in a card instead.)
Then when your friend is ready, they enter their gift code and take a short quiz on their coffee preferences. Trade will get to work personally selecting the best beans to suit.
Probably the widest range of unique coffees you can find from any subscription service. This truly is the perfect gift for the adventurous coffee drinker in your life.
Trees Knees Coffee-Infused Maple Syrup
Price: $
Our Rating: 8/10
This is one for the foodies.
It’s craft maple syrup from the Catskill Mountain area of New York infused with Stumptown Coffee Roaster’s Hair Blender Blend.
And it’s honestly delicious.
It takes the sweet notes from the syrup and marries them with the richness of the coffee.
The result is a unique flavor with hints of toffee and dark chocolate.
I’m a big fan of French toast with bacon and lashings of this syrup. But it also goes well with sweet potatoes, ice cream, or pancakes.

Gift Card to Local Coffee Roaster
Price: $
Our Rating: 10/10
Remove the stress and guesswork whilst still getting a thoughtful gift by choosing a gift card.
Many small coffee roasters offer this service, you might just need to contact them directly to ask about it.
That way, your coffee snob can choose whatever coffee they like and you don’t have to risk getting it wrong. Even if it’s a roaster they haven’t bought from before, they’ll appreciate getting try something new.
Wacaco Picopresso
Price: $$$
Our Rating: 9/10
Without a doubt, Wacaco makes the best portable espresso machines currently on the market. The Picopresso is for the espresso nerd who loves to camp/hike/travel.
It is unforgiving so it’s not well suited to the casual coffee drinker. But paired with an amazing manual grinder, this little pocket rocket delivers awesome espresso anywhere.
If you know someone whose idea of heaven is a perfect espresso up a mountain, then this is the gift for them.
Overall this is one of our favorite coffee-lover gift ideas (see our full review for more details).
Wacaco Nanopresso
Price: $$
Our Rating: 7.5/10
If you’re worried that the Picopresso takes more effort than your friend will be willing to put in whilst traveling (or if it’s too expensive), the Nanopresso is a great alternative.
It’s a lot simpler to use and offers flexibility.
As standard, the Nanopresso takes any ground coffee. This gives total flexibility as long as your friend has a travel grinder or takes a bag of pre-ground with them. It’s a little messy to clean, depending on what facilities they’re likely to have access to (like a hotel room bin/sink or the great outdoors).
Or, you can get the NS adaptor which means it will take any original Nespresso pod. This makes it slightly easier to use and clean on the go, but does restrict them to pods (usually considered lower quality).
The downside is that the coffee quality isn’t quite as good as the Picopresso offers.
AeroPress
Price: $$
Our Rating: 8.5/10
Despite being less than 20 years old, the AeroPress is something of a coffee institution.
It’s a simple design that can be used at home or while traveling. It’s also cheap, easy to use, and loved by coffee fanatics the world over. We’d call that a triple threat when browsing coffee snob gifts.
The flavor of coffee brewed is some of the best out there.
If you think your coffee-obsessed friend might already have one, consider the AeroPress Go Plus. It comes with a sturdy travel mug which the AeroPress then goes inside whilst on the go. We recently upgraded ours to the Go Plus and haven’t looked back.
Or, for the ultimate gift, pair the AeroPress with the 1Zpresso Q Air – it fits inside the chamber when packed away so it’s a pretty perfect coffee setup.
Stanley Travel Press
Price: $$
Our Rating: 7/10
French Press is one of the most classic brewing methods. Whilst you might not be willing to drop dollar on tickets to Paris, we can offer the next best thing:
Delicious French press coffee anywhere.
The traveling French Press combines a quality coffee brewer with a thermos travel mug.
We specifically like the Stanley Travel Press as it keeps the grounds and brewed coffee separate, so no over-extracted bitter brews. It’ll also keep the coffee hot for 4 hours – perfect for camping, hiking, or commuting.
So, you’re not only gifting a classic brewing method but also a slid travel coffee thermos.
Collapsible Pour Over
Price: $
Our Rating: 7.5/10
Another great gift for coffee snobs who spend their life on the road is the gift of making pour over (drip coffee) anywhere.
This collapsible pour over coffee dripper is ridiculously space-conscious whilst still capable of producing a great-tasting cup of joe.
The silicone design folds down flat so it can fit into even the smallest of bags. And the bright color helps it not to get lost amidst the packing chaos.
Yes, paper filters need to be bought separately and silicone isn’t the greatest material. But as a trade-off between subpar high street coffee chains or self-brewed pour over, the latter wins out every time.
Yeti Rambler Travel Mug
Price: $$
Our Rating: 9/10
Daily commute, walking the dog, standing on the soccer sidelines. Everyone’s days seem to get busier and busier. So why should even one minute of it be enjoyed without coffee?
A good quality thermos keeps coffee at the perfect temperature for hours – either hot or iced cold coffee. And that’s exactly what the Yeti Rambler Travel Mug does.
When it comes to coffee, I think the Rambler is better than the Stanley Quencher (don’t come for me!) The 20 fl oz capacity is better for large coffee drinks but the smallest Stanley is 30 fl oz – great for cold water but way too much for coffee.
What I love about this particular travel coffee mug is the good solid handle (that works for righties and lefties) and the spillproof lid. Plus it’s easy to drink from – strangely not a given when buying a travel cup.
This is the perfect solution for life on the go. The coffee can even be made before bed and it will still be warm when stepping out the door.
STOJO Collapsible Travel Cup
Price: $
Our Rating: 8/10
These foldable cups are ideal for anyone who packs light and doesn’t have a lot of space.
The space-saving design is great for backpackers as the cups fold down flat. Then, when the need for caffeine hits, they easily pop back out.
What sets STOJO’s cups apart from the competition is the reinforced middle section that stops the cup from collapsing or falling over with liquid inside. Plus the cups come in a dizzying array of colors.
If the travel cup is likely to be used whilst driving, warn your gift recipient to pop the lid before they set off as it’s a little fiddly.
But for less than the price of 3 high-street coffees, I was seriously impressed with this cup’s heat retention.
Portable Manual Coffee Grinder like the 1Zpresso Q Air
Price: $$$
Our Rating: 9/10
To make the absolute best cup of coffee possible, the beans should be freshly ground immediately before brewing. Any self-confessed coffee snob would agree, but it’s not always so easy whilst traveling.
We love the 1Zpresso Q Air for travel – it’s the smallest and most lightweight grinder in their lineup. Heck, it even fits inside the chamber of the AeroPress, making it the perfect combo deal if you’re looking to really spoil them.
If the Q Air is out of your budget, the Javapresse is a good option though the results aren’t nearly as good (you can read our Javapresse review, here).
“Lego” Coffee Mug
Price: $
Our Rating: 7/10
We all know someone who’s hard to buy for. Maybe it’s a distant relative or maybe you need inspiration for a colleague’s Secret Santa gift. Either way, is anyone ever too old to enjoy Lego?
(Although, for the avoidance of copyright, this is not technically Lego. It’s build-on-brick ‘cos protected names and all that.)
No matter who you’re shopping for, we guarantee at least 10 minutes of entertainment from this quirky coffee gift idea.
Crochet Coffee Cup
Price: $
Our Rating: 8/10
Sorry but could this little crochet coffee cup be any cuter?!
If you want to put a smile on the face of your favorite coffee lover, this is sure to do the trick.
It’s pretty small (can fit on the palm of your hand) and is available with a range of different messages to suit the heartwarming vibe you’re going for.

Jute Burlap Coffee Bean Sacks
Price: $
Our Rating: 6.5/10
Ok, this might be a little random but is definitely one of the most unique coffee gifts you can give.
With a little imagination and a tiny bit of DIY crafting, what’s a discarded coffee bean sack to one person is a quirky bit of decor to another.
I’ve seen them used as chair coverings, table runners, or simply popped onto the wall as “industrial chic” artwork.
Pretty niche as gifting goes, but fun all the same.
Novelty Socks
Price: $
Our Rating: 6.5/10
SOCKS!
Is it even Christmas if there’s not a pair of socks under the tree? My mother-in-law has been replenishing my sock collection every year for almost a decade now. But these have to be my favorite.
Ditch the boring monochrome socks and put a smile on someone’s face with a toe-warming, funny gift.
Coffee Candle
Price: $
Our Rating: 7/10
I’m not going to lie, I kind of expected to hate the smell of this coffee scented candle but was very pleasantly surprised.
It’s more ‘caramel latte’ than ‘dark roasted coffee’ which is a much more welcome smell. Plus it burns for hours – it’s advertised as 90-110 hours which I certainly didn’t time to confirm but have no reason to doubt.
This is a great housewarming gift or thank you to someone hosting a dinner party.
1Zpresso J Ultra
Price: $$$$
Our Rating: 9.5/10
This is our favorite manual coffee grinder and the one we reach for every day.
We’ve tested a lot of manual grinders over the years and none can reach the dizzying heights of the J Ultra. (Compare it to all our best manual coffee grinder reviews to see why).
1Zpresso is also a pretty big deal in the coffee world so this (or any of their grinders) is sure to please your recipient.
The J-Ultra looks great and performs ridiculously well. With 8 microns between each step and over 350 steps, the perfect grind size is achievable for all brewing methods. It’s the kind of precision that gets coffee nerds all very excited.
(Psst… You can read our full review for more details).
The incredible precision and consistency across the full range of grind sizes make this our go-to grinder for espresso and pour over alike.
JavaPresse
Price: $$
Our Rating: 8.5/10
If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly grinder, the JavaPresse is a great option.
Whilst it doesn’t have the precision of the pricier grinders, it’s a great first step for anyone looking to up their home coffee game by grinding fresh.
It’s easy to use and offers tremendous value for money by performing well beyond its price tag.
It retails around $45 and, if that price wasn’t enticing enough, you can regularly pick it up at a discounted bargain price. Great for those organized folks who keep a gifting drawer ‘just in case’ (I’m looking at you, Mom).
Freshly grinding coffee beans is the easiest way to improve the quality of coffee at home. So this is an easy-win coffee gift for the coffee lover in your life.
Breville Smart Grinder Pro
Price: $$$$
Our Rating: 9/10
This is one for someone who can’t or doesn’t want to manually grind their beans. And it also won’t cost you the earth (compared to other grinders anyway).
The Breville Smart Grinder Pro not only grinds coffee beans (excellently, I might add) but also doses the ground coffee. This means no weighing and no wastage.
It’s more suited to espresso grinding, so it depends on the preferred type of coffee maker your friend uses. But if it’s espresso, the Smart Grinder Pro can help a budding barista get a cafe-quality shot at home with ease.
Prefer to buy direct? Shop with Breville
They (*cough* we) can geek out over every little detail to get that perfect shot. All of these gifts will improve any home baristas game BUT if they’re espresso obsessed, they may already have some (or all) of these things, so proceed with caution…
We haven’t included any espresso machines as to get something good is a serious investment and not something you should dive into without first knowing what they’re looking for. With a little more info behind you, we have hundreds of hands-on espresso machine reviews to help you decide.
Normcore V4 Tamper
Price: $$
Our Rating: 9.5/10
In the world of espresso accessories, Normcore is a big name. They make a range of quality accessories for affordable prices that will please even the most die-hard coffee snob.
The V4 tamper is probably my favorite product that they make. Only probably though – it’s a tough choice.
A tamper is a simple tool used to compact the ground coffee into a flat, even puck – a very important part of espresso making. This one is spring-loaded which makes tamping coffee grounds a breeze though it takes a little getting used to. I also love the ergonomic handle.
For me, this sleek tamper is a non-negotiable part of my espresso setup.
Before you buy, subtly ask what espresso machine they use. The tamper has to be the same size as their portafilter (where the ground coffee puck sits), so you can quickly look up the right size before you buy.
Timemore Black Mirror Scale
Price: $$
Our Rating: 8/10
Us coffee nerds are a precise bunch who love to obsess over every minute detail of the brewing process. And it’s impossible to do that without an accurate, super fast scale.
The Timemore Black Mirror is exactly that.
It has a built-in timer, is fast, and it’s accurate. Oh, and it’s very affordable too.
This makes it the ideal present for fanatics of espresso, AeroPress, and pour over alike.
We know that buying gifts for coffee snobs isn’t always the easiest task which is why we’ve tried to cover every budget, style, and recipient. From the funny coffee gifts to the more high-brow upscale presents, there’s something here for everyone.
Happy shopping!
